Billy Florence - Over 40 & Planning for Retirement

I read an article that talked about people over 40 who aren't properly prepared for retirement and what they should begin to do. Of course, it said to pay off debt aggressively and ramp up savings for retirement. It also said to take advantage of Roth's.

All of these things are very important for people to do when planning for the future. But it also said to think about extending your current career and wait a little longer to retire or start a second career after retirement. There are millions of Americans who are planning to do exactly that - retire from a career and start a new one. What a perfect reason to start a business of your own while you are working. Many Americans have gone out and started a home-based business while they were still working in their career and built up an income to take care of them when they are done working their job.

It does take hard work and effort to build a business in addition to working a job but then again, it also takes hard work and effort to go start a second career after retiring from a first career.

If you are one of those Americans over 40 (or any age) and worried about being prepared for retirement, consider business ownership as an option for you.
