Billy Florence: Leaders Are Made Not Born

I love to read and learn from great leaders. There is so much to learn about leadership but one of the most important things to realize is that great leaders aren't born that way. Leaders develop over time. We can all CHOOSE to grow and develop our leadership skills. I believe it is important to read about great leaders because you can learn how they struggled and grew in to the great leaders that they were.

Here is a great quote from Warren G. Bennis that says it all:

"The most dangerous leadership myth is that leaders are born-that there is a genetic factor to leadership. This myth asserts that people simply either have certain charismatic qualities or not. That's nonsense; in fact, the opposite is true. Leaders are made rather than born. Failing organizations are usually over-managed and under-led." - Warren G. Bennis
